The FaceBike project takes place inside the biggest European bikers meeting at the Moto Clube Faro in Portugal. In July almost 80000 people from all over the world meet together to share their passion and bikes! Bikers get often a bad reputation and seem to live outside "our" world... free and wild. People may understand the biker's way of life when reading Moto Clube Faro dogma (the Club that welcome the meeting): "Live to Ride & Ride to Live"!! Jérôme wanted (and still do as he's going back this summer) to get inside this meeting and discover these people. To understand who they are, to understand their passion for motorcycles and how they will show up in front of a camera. Jérôme did not want stolen images, so i decided to face up and approach them, to explain his project... here is a part of it!
Jérôme Epaillard is a French architectural and portrait photographer. He apprehends architectures such as portraits, with a very marked photographic aesthetic on the shedding light of curves, volumes and a pronounced taste for minimalism. The objective of his photographic work on architecture is to create images with a strong visual and narrative identity accompanied by a great respect for the creativity of architects. Even though he loves color, his work turns more often to black and white photography today.
