Late colors

The course of Thibault de Puyfontaine is that a moth, drawn towards light bulbs and neon. The first stage of Late colors took him to Egypt and Mozambique. Under the strange electric lights of African nights, the city becomes a theatrical set: walls become diaphanous ruins, foam folds into a white rose, substance forms an unreal patchwork. We have no way of knowing whether we are in Cairo in Alexandria, or in Maputo. We are in a city that does not exist. An imaginary city in the heart of the night.

Born in Clichy, Thibault de Puyfontaine lives in Paris and travels regularly throughout the world. After some years of technical training in the studios of Paris, he put his knowledge to use in photographic journalism, advertising and portraits. His journey to Egypt in 2007 was a revelation, which encouraged him to gradually abandon commercial work in order to dedicate himself to his personal photography. Since 2010 he’s part of many exhibition throughout the world including Art Elysées (fair OFF of “la FIAC”), Fotofever (fair OFF of “Parisphoto”), Bue Sky (federal center of photography of Oregon in Portland), in Chicago in Pespective gallery and at Elysium Gallery in united kingdom. Thibault de Puyfontaine continues to purchase his pictures in Africa.
