Entry Description

After the crackdown on native Tibetans in Lhasa by the Chinese government in March 2008, protests by Nepal?s Tibetan diasporas have become regular in the capital. The methods of Nepal?s police force were put under local media scrutiny after initial violent encounters which resulted in bloodied protestors. The government was also criticised for bowing to China?s demands of using a hard-handed approach to suppress the dissidents.
