Entry Description

Extended beech forests cover large parts of the magnificent Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park (Italy), exploding with colors in Autumn. The experience affects all the senses, and I wanted to convey this in a picture. I found a spot in the woodland of Forca d'Acero where the trees, red carpet of fallen leaves and lights all worked well together and created an effect like an impressionist painting capturing the essence of colors in Autumn.

About Photographer

I am a passionate traveller and nature photographer with a conservationist vocation, although my professional background is very different. Since childhood I have been enchanted by the beauty of Nature revealed in its multiple forms. This attraction pushed me to learn more about wildlife first through books and documentaries and then as an adult through travels to discover the amazing biodiversity of natural habitats. However, the real encounter with photography dates back to only a few years ago at the first of many trips to continental Africa. The magnificence of those boundless territories and its wildlife made me immediately feel the need to fix those visions for me and for others. This experience has led me to a deep inner transformation that opened a new chapter of my life. Indeed, love for Nature and the awareness of the fragility of its ecosystems made me approach photography. Thanks to its extraordinary communicative power, I have the ability to report and witness to others my own vision of beauty, harmony and perfection of creation. Since then my goal is therefore to contribute with my photographs to the extensive work already done by other nature photographers - with whom I share this challenge - so that, through the celebration of Nature, more and more people can be fostered to preserve what remains for future generations.
