3 CHAPTERS OF ILLUMINATION: God Calling Artist Statement I utilize photography as a tool to capture more than just a moment in time, but as a voice to capture a movement through time and circumstance. I desire to describe a journey; a feeling of progression through and to something and it propels my artist eye to such a beginning and an end. Such are these images from the project entitled, The Three Chapters Of Illumination: God Calling. The series represents a metaphorical spiritual journey towards fear-less, liberated living. As this personal passage paralleled a creative one, the symbolic icon of the black wolf within the work represents the temptation to be driven by fear and it’s control over our lives. Three Chapters embodies a transformation from this bondage, freely encompassing liberty and the message of hope. From bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual faith to great courage; From great courage to liberty.
