Lev Tsimring's passion for photography originates in Russia where he spent the first 30 years of his life. Since 1992 he is based in San Diego, USA. A theoretical physicist with an interest in biology, in his art he studies "patterns of life" with his camera. Until the advent of the digital era, he was working in the traditional 35 mm format printing in his own darkroom. Today he is shooting with digital cameras and makes his own limited edition prints. Lev Tsimring's photographic pursuits range from abstract photography to portraits and landscape. Thanks to his profession, Lev travels extensively throughout the world, and through his photography he tries to understand and communicate the spirit of the place and the people. In the last few years he is more and more attracted to street photography in which he enjoys capturing those rare fleeting moments of beauty, humor, and love in everyday life. His work was shown in a number of solo and group exhibitions both in Russia and USA, and published in a book, ÃƒÂ¢Ã¯Â¿Â½Ã¯Â¿Â½Through my eyesÃƒÂ¢Ã¯Â¿Â½Ã¯Â¿Â½ (DEKOM, 2005). He has won several juried photographic and art competitions. Lev has received a Honorable Mention at the 2009 "International Photography Awards" and is a finalist of WPGA 2010 Pollux Awards.
