Richard Boll graduated with a BA (Hons) in Photography from the Edinburgh College of Art in 1999. After graduating he divided his time between teaching the technical aspects of photography to degree students and working as a freelance photographer. He is now working full time as an editorial and advertising photographer in Brighton and London. He is represented by the London agency Playground Photographic, supplies images to the Getty image library and is also represented by the Focus Gallery of Contemporary Photography in Cape Town. Awards and commissions include first place in the Audi/Next Level International Award for Contemporary Photography in 2004, first prize in the 2006 National Portrait Gallery Photographic Prize, a commission from the National Portrait Gallery to photograph Sir David Attenborough and being short-listed for the 2007 London International Creative Competition.
