Entry Description

Young women, born and raised in rural Hungary, all members of a large, poor roma family, with cravings for love and affection. They repeat the same patterns in life as their parents. All dropped out of school by the age of sixteen and had at least two children by the age of nineteen and are unemployed. The eldest has had eight children by the age of twenty seven. Their mother had nine kids, their grandmother had twelve. They paint their interior walls red. Ongoing self assigned project to evidence values that connect us and not what devide us apart.

About Photographer

With an M.A. in Humanities, Tamás Schild is a Budapest based freelance photographer. He has a preference for long term self assigned projects. His main themes and portrait series relate to human dignity and evanescence. He represented Hungary in EMOP, European Month of Photography. Winner of the KLPA grand prize and Silver Medal of Paris Photography Prize Px3. in 2015. Multiple winner of Hungary's POY. IPA/Lucie competion recognitions. Recipient of the gold medal awarded by the Hungarian Academy of Arts. Nominated for the Henri Cartier Bresson Award by Kunsthalle, Budapest.
