Tony and Melody both live in Vancouver's Downtown East Side. Tony has been a heroin addict for 25 years and lives with HIV. Melody is addicted to crack cocaine. This ten block radius has an Aids rate estimated at 30%, overdose is the leading cause of death and most women sell their bodies for subsistence living needs such as food and shelter. The downtown East Side is considered the poorest postal code in North America.
