May 12, 2008, in China's Sichuan province suffered Richter 8 earthquake, 88,000 people dead or missing, 500 million people lost their homes. According to Chinese government statistics, the disaster caused a direct economic loss of 124 billion U.S. dollars, reconstruction work will take many years, the reconstruction costs may more than 245 billion U.S. dollars.
